The Emperor had abolished marriage because he discovered that soldiers are stronger in battle when they are not married. Valentine continued to marry young lovers in secret and later was punished with death by the Emperor. Today one reason for celebrating St. Valentine is to celebrate love and romance and feeling between people. And most importantly, it’s the day where the message of love is communicated to our loved ones and lovers.
