Converse All Stars

I am constantly surprised and amazed by the constant comebacks and rebirths that Converse has managed to achieve over the decades.

If you are like me and were born in the early eighties, you probably remember the great success and popularity that Converse boots enjoyed back then among youth, teens and young adults alike. If you are even older, you will surely remember them as well since they first came about in 1917!

In the eighties, if you wanted to be trendy, you needed to own at least one pair of Converse All Stars, preferably in black or blue and that would just complete the ultimate ‘look’ alongside your pair of skinny blue jeans and a simple, but classic, white t-shirt. In the nineties, the grunge look came about and Kurt Cobain and the grunge scene began to fade away shortly after.

But just when everybody thought they were more or less becoming extinct , Converse boots once again reappeared at the beginning of the Noughties in a multitude of coulours, patterns and styles, with a definite emphasis on colour! In fact, with all of the colours prints and other variations that you can find these days, it is almost mind boggling! Converse Chuck Taylors are very original and stylish–now Converse All Stars are really becoming a fashion statement. In fact, these days you can find them in grey monochrome or with heels or in sequins!
It is very likely that they will continue to be very popular among both the younger generation but also among adult people who grew up with them and like them for what they represent, in addition to their classic and timeless style.

Did you know?

The Converse All Stars were made for basketball players. The first basketball player who ever wore them was Chuck Taylor in 1918, almost a century ago!
