With less than a week until Valentine’s Day and those all important dinner dates (for those lucky enough to have a man) it is about time – if you haven’t already to think about the Vday outfit.

Don’t worry Fashionchampagne is on hand to give you some pointers.

1. Find out where you are going. It has happened to me before I have got all dressed up only to be told we’re going to pizza hut! LOL! embarrassing for me? Yes. Amusing for him? Most definitely. So with that out the way the next step is to decide what to wear obviously.

2. Heels are a must! unless you 5ft 11 and your man is 5ft 5.

3. Think fun, flirty and feminine. With Spring/Summer 2010 season clothes hitting shops around now there are so many options to choose from. Floral dresses, nude and pastel shade, loose fitting and floaty clothing just screams out feminine.

4. Remember less is more. You don’t wanna go out there dressed in micro mini, a V neck top and 6 inch heels. Leave something to the imagination.

5. LBD is a fail safe. If nothing is working for you wear that.

6. Underwear! Matching and pretty is my mantra. If you feel sexy underneath your bound to feel sexy on top.

7. My number one rule which I guess should have been placed at number one is wear perfume. I have (well my Mum) always believed in the power of a signature scent. Leave it lingering and he’ll always be reminded of you when he smells it.

Hotels can be up to 10% more expensive during Valentine’s Day than usually. And that’s before you get flowers, chocolate, or a card for your sweetheart. So if you want to have a romantic getaway weekend you should probably plan to do it before or after February 14th.
