3 Ways to get rid of Winter Weight

It still feels like winter but spring and summer are not that far away. We at Shopaholic hate to mention it but now is also the best time to start working on your body and lose any additional kilos that you may have packed on during the winter. In winter, days are shorter and we tend to be bored and lazy. And when we are lazy, we tend to eat which is not so good… So the most important thing if you’re trying to lose weight is to break that eating cycle and keep the right diet/exercise routine. Starving yourself but not doing any sports is just as bad as working out too much and not eating enough.

The best workout for losing weight is still cardio which can include different kinds of exercise. We want to show you 3 different ways of cardio workouts today:

1. Ever watched rowing on TV? If so, you have seen that these athletes are in great physical condition- so rowing must be a really great workout! If you don’t live near a river or rowing team then you can get a rowing machine. The newer models work with a magnetic brake system which improves your workout much better than an air-resistance rower. A console is attached to the machine and displays time, count, or calories burned. An additional feature is a heart rate monitor which gives you better information on how you are performing. Some rowing machines can also be folded so that they won’t take up space and can be stored easily.weight bench

2. Believe it or not, a regular weight bench can also be used for a cardio workout! The best is to use lighter weights and to do a lot of repetitions. You will see that after a while, it’ll feel like you have been running around. Some weight benches already come with weights but definitely make sure to get a bench that can be adjusted to all kinds of different positions for your workout. Also, you can do crunches and sit-ups which are a great way to stay in shape. The best is to try to do a short workout every day, and remember: light weights and a lot of repetitions.

3. If you like it fast and you like to move around a lot, a treadmill is probably the best for you. Most home-use treadmills can be folded, so you won’t have a problem with storing them. Some of the best features are the incline which lets you simulate running up a hill, the console displays all the important information about the workout or the different programs that you can set depending on your fitness goals. For example, there are the cardio, fat loss, or alternate programmes. When you do a cardio workout you should run for at least 35 minutes so your body will use enough energy to lose enough weight.

We know that there are a lot of other cardio machines or exercise options–those mentioned above were only three suggestions. No matter what you decide on doing, after every workout, when you eat something, make sure it is low in fat and especially low in sugar (your body loves to store and to transform sugar into fat). If you follow these rules, we are sure you will have the perfect summer body this year!

Did you know…?
The first mobile gym opened its doors in Darwen. You can find rowing machines, spinners, healthy food preparation and consultation all housed in a double decker bus. The idea behind it is to encourage people to take the first step and start working out.
