Children can be outside all day long. It is amazing that children can play by themselves for hours if they find something interesting to play with. Children love to go to playgrounds to play with other children and they enjoy a wide variety of toys. However being able to play in their own garden gives parents and children a little more freedom.

Normally parents put a sandbox, swings or both in the garden for their children. A classic garden toy is a children’s playhouse, which is available in many designs. There are outdoor playhouses at ground level, ones with a balcony, ones combined with swings and a slide and even fancy ones with themes such as play ships or cute Dutch barns.

In a garden playhouse, children can play many games. You will be amazed when you see your child playing all by themselves, hosting a party for their cuddly toys or playing “mother and child” and “grocer’s shop” with a friend. A garden playhouse is a great place for children and it comes in handy for parents as outdoor toys, tricycles and small bikes can be stored in it.

Most playhouses come with many safety features to ensure a child’s well-being. Garden playhouses with a balcony are guarded by a railing to prevent children from falling out. Safety hinges are fitted on doors to avoid trapped fingers and there are no sharp edges where children can cut themselves on.

When buying an outdoor playhouse, make sure it meets all safety standards. Look for a TUV Safety Tested playhouse and a BS EN-71 certified children’s playhouse which is certified by European Toy Safety Standards.
