I think I may have come across a bit of a gap in the market – for stylish pet accessories. I currently have a vested interested as we are awaiting the pending arrival of Claude the Kitten to our home in a few weeks.
Pets of course come with their own plethora of accessories, and I’m sorry, but am I the only one who wants these accessories to look half way decent?! Maybe I sound shallow, but I do kinda want my cat’s style to fit in with mine!! No flimsy plastic bowls or 80’s patterned saggy cushions for my kitty!!
So, a little research found there is not a great deal out there for a cat with discerning style, but here are my picks of the best….

Rose & Grey don’t do it by halves with a metal four poster bed or a solid wood bed in Royal Green – not forgetting the Toile de Jouy cushion! Pure luxury! They also stock a great set of food bowls set in a wrought iron holder.

For a slightly less extravagant look, but still stylish and perfect for a country kitchen, Garden Trading stocks a sweet wicker bed in green and keep all those unsightly bags of food out of the way in this sweet storage tin, also by Garden Trading…

One retailer who seems to be trying to fill this gap in stylish pet accessories is Mungo and Maud.   With a store near London’s exclusive Sloane Square, and a elegant website, they are certainly one the best specialist pet retailers I’ve come across.  With their linen bags for dog treats, and cute cat bowls, and I love the packaging of their organic cat nip! A lovely present for a cat lover friend.

If you ever happen to be visiting Harrods in London, make sure you take a little trip to the Pet Kingdom on the Fourth Floor, if only to see possibly the most expensive dog bed ever!
This Harrods acrylic frame bed, comes complete with a suede style memory foam cushion! Hey, if your dog doesn’t like it, you could always lay your own head on that luxurious cushion! That’s if you’ve got a spare £1200 lying around to spend on your dogs sleeping quarters of course!

If you want something a little different but more affordable Etsy.com is worth a look – I love these suitcase beds….

So there you have it! Who knows what little Claude will think of his stylish accessories, I wouldn’t be surprised if his preferred spot for catching his zzzz’s is curled up in the corner of the sofa!! We can only try!
