Spring, summer and autumn are all beautiful seasons for a garden. Different flowers bloom and you can fuel up on fresh air and sunshine. In summer, long days and warm nights allow you to be outside all day if you are not working or sleeping. That is when you can enjoy your garden the most.
It is high season for sunbathing in the garden, built up the kiddie pool, invite friends over, BBQ and be outside – a lovely season! It is still beautiful to be outside when the dark is settling in. How long ago have you been looking the stars? When did you see a falling star last to make a wish?
There is not much more you can wish for if are enjoying the sound of the night and light some candle hurricane lamps around you. Add one mosquito candle near you to keep hungry mosquitoes away. Mosquitoes do not like the smell of citronella, which is an easy way to not use mosquito spray.
Have you ever staged your own open air cinema? It is beautiful when you feel like watching a film but the night is too beautiful and warm to be inside. All you need is a laptop and a good film. I often wrap me in a blanket and take my Aspire notebook outside. I have been watching several films in my garden. It is a wonderful experience – just try it!
Another passion that I can share with you is to take a Spanish siesta – a short nap. It is great if you are tied from a long night out. The best place is a hammock in the garden. To move back from busy everyday life, take a book and lean back in garden swing seats. There are many kinds of garden swing seats: classical ones, sofa swing seats, romantic swing seats, which are like a swinging bench, or fancy swinging seats.
You love to be outside but you do not have a garden yourself? Some swinging seat can be hung up inside or on balcony too. Look for a sunny spot on your balcony or when inside just open up your window all the way. Maybe you know someone with a garden. Encourage them to host a BBQ or offer to bring your notebook and popcorn to have a film night outside. Most people love to show their beautiful garden and are more than happy to share it.
Did you know?
A short nap in the early afternoon, called siesta, is a common tradition in countries where the weather is warm. The siesta is a traditional daytime nap in Spain, and through Spanish influence it was brought to many Latin American countries.
