Listen to the Music with a new Ipod Nano

Posted in Tech

ipod nano silverWithout music I can’t survive a day in my life. Everywhere I go I have my Apple iPod nano with me. But here is the thing. I bought the first generation of a nano four years ago. I love it, don’t get me wrong. It travelled the world with me. We spent our vacations together, we had nice long walks at the beach and worked out together. But now it is time for a change. I want a new one! My nano has 1GB memory that is no longer enough since I listen to a lot of podcasts and a huge variety of audio books I want to listen to when I am in the mood or I missed the last bus again and have to walk home.

So first thing I checked out was the ipod nano. It looked great but I saw that I missed a few generations in between. This nano has a built-in video camera! It is amazing, this small device can take videos wherever I am. The screen is huge compared to my old ipod. You can watch comfortablyIpod shuffle video clips. For your work out you can use the Pedometer that counts your steps. Additionally there is no a built-in FM radio with two amazing features iTunes Tagging and Live Pause. You can choose between 8GB or 16GB.

I was overwhelmed. While I was at the store I looked at the Apple ipod shuffle to see what the newest updates here are. It is still small and cute. The controls have been removed and are now at the earphone cord. That is perfect especially when you go for a run. Sometimes you need a more powerful song to keep going and it is too much of an effort to change the song. That is now easier. The memory increased here as well. You have the choice between 2GB and 4GB. The design is amazing. It is even more colourful in pink, green, black, or silver. It still comes with a clip so it is handy to carry around. And the stylish shuffle makes it a nice accessory to show around.

Both ipods come with a new great function called VoiceOver. It tells you the title and artist of the songs you listen to. You can use the controls on the earphone or press a button. What a great invention. Sometimes you forget what do you have in your play list or you just downloaded this great new album and you want to check the song it is super easy now. VoiveOver tells you also the name of each playlist, so you switch between them without even looking.

So I will go for the new nano, it looks amazing and I love the new features. Now I have to decide between the ipod nano silver which looks nice and classy or shall I go crazy for an ipod nano orange? That will be the question for the next couple weeks.

Did you know?

The name iPod was proposed by Vinnie Chieco, a freelance copywriter. After Chieco saw a prototype, he thought of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey and the phrase “Open the pod bay door, Hal!”, which refers to the white EVA Pods of the Discovery One spaceship.
