As the weather starts to warm up, going outside and exercising is becoming a much more plausible and attractive option. One of my favourite ways to exercise in the outdoors is bicycling. Biking outside is so much fun that it’s less about exercise and more about enjoying the outdoors for me. When I was younger, I used to mountain bike quite a bit with friends. I’ve gone hiking and jogging with friends, but nothing really beats biking with them. There’s really something special about biking with friends–I don’t know if it’s because it’s reminiscent of childhood, but biking is just an experience that few find boring. If you’re in the market for a mountain bike this year, check out these three brands that have been making quality bicycles for a long time.
1. Carrera Mountain Bikes
Carrera bikes are some of the highest quality mountain bikes around and they don’t come cheap. Carrera bikes originated from Italy and they have a level of quality that is renowned. What they do come with is an amazing set of features that’ll have anyone’s jaw drop, regardless of whether or not you’re a casual biker or a professional. Carrera bikes have aluminium and carbon fibre frames which means that they are extremely light and extremely durable. All come fully decked with top of the line hydraulic disk brakes and some come with full suspension on both the front and rear wheels. This ensures maximum comfort and ease wherever you ride. Some models come with up to 27 gears! Without a doubt, you don’t regret a Carrera bike. It’ll last you decades and will make a perfect companion out on the trails.
If you’re looking for a more affordable mountain bike, an Apollo bike might just be what you’re looking for. Manufactured in Australia, Apollo bikes are designed to endure some of the roughest terrain around. Apollo has a wide range of mountain bikes and road bikes and they’ve literally got something for everyone. If you don’t know what bike is best for you, visit their website and have a look at their selection of bikes. You can find an Apollo bike for whatever level you’re in. Their top mountain bike at the moment is called the Arctec M. The Arctec M comes with a carbon monocoque frame–carbon fibre moulded into one seamless piece. Having a frame made of one single piece makes for a much more studier frame with less weakness or vulnerability.
3. Trek Bikes
Trek is another world renowned brand that’s been making high quality mountain bikes for a long time. They have extremely high quality mountain bikes for every kind of rider as well. They have bikes with full suspension as well as hardtail bikes–that is mountain bikes with only front suspension. Literally every kind of feature can be found on a Trek bike–you can’t go wrong. The most important part of choosing one out is first understanding what you’re style of mountain biking is and what you’re most comfortable with. I personally prefer the Trek 4300. It’s a mountain hardtail bike that’s made with an aluminium frame that keeps it light and durable. The hardtail front suspensions allow a bit of comfort on rougher trails while at the same time keeping a really sturdy feel.
