How many pictures are still on your camera’s memory card? Pictures you have taken on your last trip, on a party two weeks ago or the concert last night. I guess there are a quite a number of them. Apart from their many advantages — digital cameras have one huge downside: It is actually too simple to take pictures resulting in an overload of pictures.

I think that storing thousands of pictures on a memory card or hard drive isn’t the right way to appreciate the art of photography. That’s why I’ll present you what other options are out there that help you to enjoy your pictures in the long run.

Most people don’t print their pictures because they think it’s not the same quality like getting them printed in a photo lab. This was maybe the case a few years ago but nowadays nothing is easier than printing photos yourself. The only things you need are the right accessories. Printers that are specialized on printing pictures like the Epson Stylus photo printer are a perfect partner for the photo enthusiast. The Epson Stylus is not just a printer but also a scanner and copier. After having printed your pictures, put them in an ordinary photo frame. You just need to make sure that you display them indoors, under glass or UV filter. So you’ll enjoy them for a very long time.

2.
Even if you don’t have a film in your camera anymore, photo labs can still be useful — especially when you have taken a lot of panorama pictures. Just send them to a photo lab and get them printed. There are a lot of offers online. Check out photobox.co.uk or digitalphotographposters.co.uk. Poster prints of your best panorama pictures cost from £10. You can choose between ultra glossy photo paper and matt paper. Personally, I would go for ultra glossy paper. This paper brings out the colours more intensely and just let the picture look much better.

3.
If a photo frame and a panorama picture aren’t enough to appreciate your best shot, think about mural wallpaper. Simply select the best shot of your last holiday trip and let it get printed as wallpaper. Murals are manufactured using the latest computer to plate offset printing. That gives the wallpaper the highest possible print clarity and a perfect colour match. Usually photo wallpaper is made up of poster sized panels that fit together perfectly. Printing wallpaper might be more cost-intensive but it’s definitely the most spectacular way of enjoying your pictures.

Have you ever shared your digital pictures like you would do with a scrapbook or photo album? If not, just invite your friends or family, and delight them with a slide show. A HD media player 1080p helps you to share your photos, movies and music. Just directly connect a digital camera and enjoy your pictures on your TV in the comfort of your living room. It’s as simple as that. These media players can handle JPEG files up to 20 megapixels and several other photo formats. So don’t worry about slow slide shows or freeze images when you have very large pictures.

5.
Why not treating someone with your pictures? You can let your pictures get printed on a mug or a placemat. Or you can even create your own photo calendar. These are nice gift ideas — especially when you have small children. Grandparents are always happy to get cute pictures from their grandchildren. And the most important thing: It is a quite reasonably priced gift. Again, you will find the best offers online. Just upload your favourite pictures and within a few days you will have a nice present for your loved ones.

These are some ideas what you can do with your pictures that are stuck on your hard drive. The options of digital cameras might be overwhelming on the first sight. However, once you know what to do with them it is much easier to enjoy them in the long run.

Did you know?

According to the Japanese trade body Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA), 105.9 million digital cameras were sold worldwide in 2009. For 2010, the CIPA predicts that the sales of integrated-lens cameras will rise by 3.0%.
