Everyone is confronted with one specific thing during his or her career: Having a big and important presentation. First, it might be a stressful idea to talk in front of a group of important people and it doesn’t matter if it is a large amount of people or not. We at Shopaholic have thought about our top 5 of most important things to consider in order to become a better presenter:

- Prepare your presentation according to the audience. Before you even start writing think about the following: Who am I having the presentation for and who is my target audience? What is the goal of my presentation, what do I want to change with my presentation? When you work on your presentation always keep these questions in your mind.

- Make as many notes as possible. First when you brainstorm for the presentation and later bullet points for each slide of the presentation. You can get recycled notebooks for all your thoughts so you won’t harm the environment that much. Once you don’t need certain pages from the notebook, make sure to throw them in the recycling bin to keep the cycle running.
- If you are using a projector for your presentation at your office you should check the projector the day before the presentation. Make sure that everything works fine and that you don’t need a projector replacement lamp. If you do, your tech department at work hopefully has some spare lamps. Those replacement bulbs are fairly expensive but they also work for around 2000 hours!
- Another thing to improve your presentation when using a projector: A projector remote control can be a big help to make everything smoother. Just familiarise yourself with the buttons early enough so you know what buttons you have to push when. You will see that the remote control will make you present more professionally.
- And here is one more idea on how to improve your presentation skills. It’s called touch-turn-talk. It basically says that you should get the attention of the viewers by pointing to the bullet point you are talking about. Then you turn around to your audience. Once you are facing them you can talk about it. This will make sure that the people listening to your presentation will always feel addressed.
Did you know?
Nikon was the first company to come out with a digital camera that also works as a mini projector. The Coolpix S1000pj can project your photos on to a wall so all your friends can enjoy the slide show.
