Hi Shopaholic Team,
it is finally summer but I am living near a lake and the mosquitoes are eating me at night time. Do you have any recommendations what I can do about it without much hassle?
Thanks
Hello Jim,
I agree that having mosquitoes in your bedroom at night can be very nasty. Not only having painful mosquito bites in the morning but an itching bite or the sound of a flying mosquito can keep you up in the middle of the night. However there are three easy ways to enjoy a good night´s sleep without mosquitoes.
A good option is putting up a mosquito net over your bed. This is how people fight mosquitoes in many tropical count
ries, which is very effective. In addition it looks nice and can give a feeling of vacation.
If this is too much of an effort, go for one for the other two ways. Mosquitoes do not like wind. A fan does not only give you a refreshing breeze but keeps mosquitoes away. There are a number of inexpensive fans which are very useful. A Delonghi fan for example can not only be used for a cool air flow in summer but for heating in winter.
Last but not least there are mosquito plug killer units. The plug slowly heats either a liquid or a tablet to emit an odourless scent that is harmless to humans, but extremely effective against biting insects. Just plug them in near your bed.
Enjoy nights without any mosquitoes!
