Tomorrow, the Queen’s 84th birthday will be officially celebrated with a Birthday Parade. At 10:30 in the morning the Colours will be trooped by the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards on Horse Guards Parade. This is a big event for everyone who is interested in the Royal family. If you are as excited as I am, then you should not miss this one-off event. In case you cannot attend the parade, just honour your Queen with a stylish outfit.

The Queen’s outfit is a combination of elegant modesty and fancy accessories in fresh pastel colours. Apart from hats, purses and hand gloves are essential for official occasions. What should you choose for this special day? If you are not into hats, go for an elegant purse. A purple leather purse is a colourful addition to an elegant, dark coloured dress for instance. That way you colourfully stress a rather modest dress. You can also wear a purple purse with a light coloured dress. It makes you feel young and fresh. Either way a purple leather purse is an ideal accessory and fits not just for the Queen’s birthday.

We have chosen a dress and a purse. What about the make up? The latest fashion in terms of make-up is the so called nude look. So just try out a nude lipstick. They give a subtle hint of something not too noticeable. Combine this look with nude, pale or bronzed cheeks and it is perfect. If the matte nature of this look seems a bit extreme, use a cream or beige coloured lip gloss. This goes particularly well with a tan. But most importantly, you have to pick a colour that works with your skin tone. Otherwise nude lipstick will look washed out.

To make your outfit perfect, now you just need to decide for a nice perfume. Your choice depends on your taste. Do you prefer floral, citrus or rather oriental fragrances? Prada Amber — a very modern variant of the classic fragrance– is an exceptionally oriental fragrance that is based on amber. Kenzo Flower would be a more floral fragrance. It is the perfect scent for a city woman who looks for inspiration and renewal in nature. However, a perfume should always stress your natural type. And it should never be too much.
