Summer is a wonderful time to celebrate birthdays. At this time of the year the garden is a perfect spot for a party. Whether it is your birthday, someone else´s or another reason to celebrate, it is fun to organize a garden party and have people over.

Invite friends for tea time to have tea and cake or do a BBQ party starting in the late afternoon. For a special birthday you can also start with tea and then move on to fire the barbecue later on. Either you provide food and drink for everybody or you only offer the basics and ask people to bring along some drinks and their favourite piece of meat for the barbecue.

Except food and drinks all you need are chairs and a couple of tables, cutlery, plates and cups as well as some nice decoration. If you have flowers in the garden pick a few and put them on the table. If you plan on celebrating until late at night, put some candles on the table and put up some torch lights.

Put all your patio furniture in the garden. Ask your neighbours to lend you some additional outdoor chairs and tables. Another option is to rent some folding chairs and tables from a party service. Maybe you are like me, who has been thinking about buying a new set of patio furniture for a long time, than it might be just the right time to do it now. A new set of patio furniture could be a nice gift ideas for your friends as well.

Lastly, it is important to have an alternative in case of rain. You can either celebrate inside the house or build up a pop up gazebo in your garden. This light tent gives some shade during the day and protects people in case of a light drizzle. There are some smaller and bigger, modern and more festive gazebos. A waterproof gazebo is a once in a lifetime investment, which can be used for many occasions. Sometimes pop up gazebos can be rented from a party service, too.

Ask a few members of your family or your best friends to help you with the party preparations. You will see that it is going to be fun to host a party from preparing to cleaning up afterwards.
