I recently wrote a blog post for women’s shoes, and I did my best to know what I was talking about. I’m a pretty observant guy and I have a tendency to focus on feet (partly style obsession, partly fear of people’s toes), so I believe I made some good suggestions. Hopefully my suggestions carry more weight with men’s shoes (since I do have a little more experience with them).
As men, we have so few accessory options available that our shoes matter a lot. Shoes make statements and are helpful to reflect our moods (like I said in the last post), but you first need a solid, all purpose shoe you can build your collection around.
I am someone who likes to spend a lot of time outdoors. That’s why, if you were me, you’d invest in some Velcro hiking walking shoes. As you may have gathered, I like to be prepared, and I buy things which can have multiple purposes. The Velcro straps speak to me because I can throw them on and not procrastinate about my daily walks (I am a lazy man).
I also like to slip into an adventurer persona once and a while, and Panama Jack boots help me accomplish that. They’re made with Napa leather which makes them so very soft and breathable and these are both words that sit well with me.
If you really want an all purpose boot I would go with some Scarpa Trek walking boots. They, of course, are very comfortable and you want to take care of your feet, but they also take special care of your ankles with the 360 Degree Flex ankle feature that allows for ease of moment. These are definitely boots you can wear from autumn to spring.
Whichever shoes you go with, make your choice based on what you do most so that you can accentuate your personality.
Did you know?
The name Velcro is derived from a combination of the French words velour and crochet.
