There’s no doubt that one of biggest difficulties people have is maintaining space in rooms as they accumulate things over time. Those Christmas presents you received years ago and never use yet don’t want to throw away. Or how about the clothes you buy and realise don’t really fit but you never made it back to the shop to return them. One of the best ways of creating more space in your bedroom for all these things is a storage bed. Your bed is usually the biggest piece of furniture in your bedroom, so if you can use that item as a place to store things, you’re automatically creating more space elsewhere!
The type of storage bed you’re going to choose will depend on you’re situation. If you’re a family then there are different options than if you’re a bachelor living on your own, for example. If you’re living on your own or just with a partner, then I would recommend an oak storage bed. Not only do they look great and make a fantastic addition to your boudoir, but also allow you to store a lot of things underneath and hidden. Usually the extra space is in the form of drawers, which you can pull out from underneath the mattress. Such a bed will last for years and provide you with that much needed extra space!
Alternatively, if you have kids and are looking to make some more space for all their toys, triple bunk beds are perfect. These beds give you cupboards and drawers which offer great storage, and if you don’t need all three bunks then you could remove the top mattress and use that as a great place to store those extra toys and games! Whatever your situation, make the most of your bedroom space with a storage bed now, and reap the benefits for years to come!
Did you know?
It is believed that the concept of bunk beds began in Europe in the 15th Century. Wealthy people travelled in large carts which were designed for sleeping. The cart/bed was named the “truckle bed” which usually had one bed on top of another to maximise space.
