For the golfers among us, we’re always looking to get that handicap down! If you’re an expert then you’re sure to know which golfing accessories you need and which you don’t, but for the beginners there may be a couple you’re not aware of. Whether you’re an amateur or a pro, take a read of our top 5 golfing accessories and who knows, perhaps you’ll learn something new!
1.
First and foremost, you need clubs. This is a decision entirely depending on the individual. For the beginner, just search out an inexpensive set which will allow you to get the basics of the game. For the more experienced player, the clubs you choose will depend on your game – the type of shot you play, grip, body size and age. The more you play, the more research you’re going to want to do before you much that important purchase.
2.
You usually buy clubs as part of a bag and clubs set – if you don’t, then a Nike golf bag would be a great purchase. Not too expensive, durable and practical, a good bag will be sure to help your score.
3.
Golf balls are key and, like the clubs, depend completely on your style of play. Some balls are manufactured for accuracy, others for distance. If you’re new to golf, start off with balls from a traditional and popular brand – after a while you may come to know exactly what you’re looking for in a ball and then you can choose the right one for you.
4.
Next up – shoes. Some courses let golfers play without proper golf shoes but, on the whole, it’s a requirement. Consider that you may be walking around in these for over four hours so it’s important that they’re comfortable.
5.
My final golf accessory may surprise some and may not be essential for others, but I recommend that you always have a waterproof jacket in your golf bag. Especially in the UK, you never know when the rain might come, so it’s important to be prepared. Be sure to get one that doesn’t restrict your swing, otherwise your game might go out the window!
Some of these tips are obvious, some not so much. Either way, the main thing is to research what’s right for you. With so many brands and so much variety, having the right golfing gear could do wonders for your game!
