Technology, technology, technology. Part of being a good consumer nowadays is investing in the latest gadgets and hi-tech essentials. Far from needing to keep up with the Joneses, technology is necessary in order to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving society. It becomes harder to find a dependable product because technology is such a tyrant and advances are made as soon as you buy your product. I know I sound like an old codger, but my point is that, since there is such a high turnover rate, you want to make sure you find the best values on what you buy.

Now, I’ve been scouring the net looking for a range of things that you can buy for either both a much needed hardware upgrade or as a gift for someone who has an upcoming birthday (October 6th, don’t forget). Christmas is also coming up and it’s never too early to start your shopping ideas.

Start your list off big with an HP g72-101sa Laptop. Depending on who you are, laptops can be scary purchases. Brand-wise, I’ve had an HP desktop for a few years and have not had any problems with it. If, like me, you tend to buy from companies that are socially responsible (pat-on-back), HP has a lot of clout in this department. They were named one of the world’s most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute, and they’ve done a huge amount of electronic recycling. They lead, as far as computer companies go, in being admirable. This model has a solid array of features to meet your computing needs, and I personally noted that it had a numeric keypad on it’s keyboard which I failed to note on my last purchase.

Another upgrade for you is owning your own HD camcorder. HD! The Sanyo xacti vpc th1 is aimed at the budget conscious, so keep in mind it is 720p if you do buy it, but this camcorder does the job for most applications.

Lastly, a great thing to splurge on is the Philips tt2030 bodygroom. Make sure you (or your favourite man) are still part of human civilization with this set; it’s ideal for a clean shave or trim.

These three items should cover your needs on the average day. All portable and all at low cost. Good luck and hopefully you find some good bargains on them.
