Cheerful office chic

Grey skies may have arrived, but that’s no reason why your wardrobe should be drab.  A pop of colour here and there goes a long way towards brightening not only your outfit, but your mood as well.  Trust me, try it!  The next time that you can just tell that it will be a dreary day, sneak some colour into the picture, give yourself a wink before you head out the door, and see what happens.  Cheerful office chic is as easy as purple handbags, a playful bolero jacket, and maybe some cute boots thrown into the mix as well.purple handbags

A great way to get colour into your outfit is through your handbag.  There are tons of options right now, and especially to go with autumn trends, purple handbags fit the bill.  You can accent your outfit with a royal shade or you can go electric and playful, and whatever you choose will give your outfit a happy jolt of colour.  Added bonus: since you are constantly reaching for your handbag, you get frequent reminders that today is not a grey day.

Another way to get colour into your outfit is through cute little bolero jackets.  The petit size of the jacket is perfect for experimenting with colour – it doesn’t get overwhelming in a small dose of bolero.  Of course, to complement the jaunty hue of your bag, I would suggest that you balance your outfit out with a patterned purple bolero.  The embroidered pattern in this one is a sophisticated detail, and the shorter sleeves are a playful style that help in the battle against dreariness.

Go have some fun with colour, and don’t be surprised if other people are winking at you by the end of the day!

Did you know?

The “Forbidden City” in Beijing is technically called “The Purple Forbidden City” in reference to the purple part of heaven where emperors were destined to go.
