I’m a girl who likes comfort. If I could, I’d wear my slippers out every day of the week. I mean come on, why not? They’re soft and warm and relaxing, and just being in them makes me feel happy. All footwear should have that effect, in my opinion. Happily, it’s surprisingly easy to pass off ladies slippers as normal footwear. A lot of options have rubber soles that protect the slipper fabric and give you secure footing, and there are tons of cute embroidery designs as well as solid basics. Moccasin slippers are my absolute favourite because of their warm plush lining and soft suede exterior, and they are really easy to style with jeans or tights. As long as you’re wearing long trousers that cover most of your foot anyway, go the comfortable route and wear your slippers when you have to dash out on an errand.
I’m also a pragmatist, and I understand that slippers simply won’t cut it in some situations. That’s when I turn to the next best thing, Fly boots. I love all boots, but Fly boots stand out in my mind for their unique colours and sporty feel, as well as for their incredible wearing experience. They are the ultimate choice for comfortable chic, and I can trek around in them all day long without feeling any strain. Fly boots come in luxurious, soft leather that keeps you just as cosy as your slippers do but with added warmth and protection. Another plus is that their soles are specifically designed to be light, so you get the benefit of heavy duty boots but you don’t have to stomp each step. If you can’t get away with slippers, definitely consider Fly boots as a warm and relaxing footwear option.
What do you wear on days when you just want to be comfortable?
Did you know?
Moccasins were designed to protect the foot while allowing the wearer to feel the ground. Eastern Native American tribes wore soft-soled moccasins for walking in forest ground, while Plains tribes wore hard-soled moccasins suited to their rocky geography.
