Survival kit for the holidays

The holidays are the best of times, and the worst of times.  You get to see family, give presents, and drink eggnog under the mistletoe.  You also have to deal with an increased drama quotient, insane shopping conditions, and Christmas songs that just won’t stop.  It can get stressful.  So, for when your holiday cheer wears thin, it’s a good idea to have a holiday survival kit.  Put together a bundle of things to restore your calm and bring you back to a happy place.

Another favourite restorative of mine is Chanel perfume.  Yes, it’s a bit more pricey, but totally worth it for the luxurious ingredients.  Chanel’s Coco Madmoiselle is bright and floral, and the combination of rose with orange and bergamot is a sweet contrast to all of the Christmas spices floating around in the December air.  I like having a minimum of two perfumes to alternate, just to make sure my nose doesn’t get tired of what’s supposed to be a refreshing scent.

Another great way to infuse fragrance into your day is with scented sachets.  Stick a sachet of wild rose or lavender, whatever does the trick for you, into your wardrobe.  Your clothes will soak up the lovely scent without your even having to think about it.  See how easy it is to survive the holidays?

What would you put in your holiday survival kit?

Did you know?

“Jingle Bells” was the first song broadcast from outer space, as part of a Christmas prank by Gemini 6 astronauts.
