Proper duvet care

Duvets are the warm, downy covers that turn a simple night’s sleep into a luxurious experience of fluffiness and feathers.  They’re insulation magic, especially invaluable during the winter season.  Make sure that yours last forever by practising proper duvet care and using duvet cover sets to protect them.

duvet cover setsFirst of all, let’s make sure that we’re on the same page.  A duvet is not a comforter!  A duvet is one cover that takes the place of sheets and other blankets, such as comforters.  Since you don’t use sheets, your body is in direct contact with the duvet every night.  That leads to the number one rule of duvet care: always dress them in duvet covers.   This shields them from daily wear and tear, and keeps them clean.  You don’t have to wash your duvet often when you use a cover, just shake it out every morning to keep the feathers evenly distributed.

Do you know any other ways to keep a duvet fresh?

Did you know?

In the United States, plaid-patterned flannel is typically associated with hipsters.
