Japanese style, especially among youths, is often designated as “street fashion”, essentially describing a combination of current and traditional trends mixed into customised outfits by the wearer. This is the essence of famed British fashion house Burberry’s Japanese line, Burberry Black.

Burberry has recently launched a preview of its Spring/Summer collection for its Japanese extension. The style, in line with the fine balance of modern and traditional styles of Japanese fashion taste, blends a contemporary look with classic styles, creating a very elegant look that doesn’t miss on cool.

A deeper look into the line reveals a heavy dose of wardrobe staples and essentials. The line offers a wide range of men’s suits, trim cut sport coats, dress shirts and ties. There is also a formidable selection of coats and jackets, with styles ranging from trendy takes on leather jackets to classics such as Macintosh trench coats.

In addition to the more dressed-up clothes found in the line, the Burberry Black line also features a nice selection of casual trousers, cardigans and sweaters, as well as long and short sleeve shorts.

The line ties everything together very nicely with a wide selection of accessories and footwear. To match the formal look of the suits, there is a selection of two elegant leather dress shoes. Bridging the gap between formal and casual, Burberry also introduces an excellent leather ankle boot, and an awesome desert-style suede boot for everyday wear.

Additionally, there are some nice scarves and a good selection of bags. My personal favourites are the aesthetically-pleasing messenger bags they’ve added to the line.
