If you love nothing better than impressing your mates and would like them to owe you a favour in the future, then you should become a master of hosting dinner parties. For a sensational dinner party, proper equipment and ambiance counts as much as proper ingredients.
First of all, a dining table that can comfortably accommodate all of the guests is essential. Garnish it with a vase of flowers. None of your guests should be standing and eating in the kitchen. I recommend a dark oak dining table. It’s classic, durable, and inviting. It’s exactly the sort of table that you can imagine friends and family gathering around. That said, the more the merrier is not always true at a dinner party. Try to limit people in attendance to six to eight.
It’s wise to draw the night out for as long as possible—keep it at a leisurely pace. Start off with appetisers, such as a caprese salad or prosciutto crostini. These can be prepared quickly in advance and set aside. Also make sure to open a few bottles of wine and set out glasses. For the main course, unless any of your guests is a vegetarian, you can’t go wrong with skirt steak marinated in balsamic with gourmet macaroni and cheese. A 550mm gas grill and cooking pot can help you prepare it smoothly and efficiently. After the main course is finished, wait for awhile before bringing out dessert. Ice cream with butterscotch sauce is easy to whip up. Bon Appetit!
