For some people, going grey can be a traumatic experience.  For others who embrace their silver locks, it can be freeing.  While deciding to stay grey will save you a good deal of money and the stress of having to regularly colour your mane, it also means you’ll need to pay special attention to your hair to maintain a healthy sheen.  Luckily, there are a number of grey hair shampoos and other products to aid you in your move to the au naturel.

Keeping it soft

You may think that having grey hair means throwing caution to the wind in terms of how you treat your hair, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.  In actuality, grey hair requires near-constant maintenance as it can appear dry and wiry without the proper care.   If you’re the kind of person who uses a lot of product in your hair, you’re going to want to wash thoroughly with moisturising conditioner on a regular basis so that the product doesn’t dry out your hair.  That said, there are some great colour-specific products available for you, including dry look hair gel (for maintaining a dry but healthy styled look) and coloured grey hair mousse.  These products can be found in most regular drugstores, but if you’re unsure about which one is right for you, go ahead and ask your stylist for his or her recommendation.

Avoiding the “yellow effect”
