Blu ray DVD players are to DVD players as MP3 players are to CD players. It will not be long before Blu-ray is a common site in households around the world. It is a very young technology, but it is growing rapidly and will soon be the norm in entertainment. While the Blu-ray collection is not very expansive, new titles are being released as we speak. Many older films are being rereleased on Blu-ray, and it is only a matter of time before it drives the traditional DVD player out of the market.
Currently, the technology is still rather expensive and limited. The potential is all there, but as I said before, it is just a matter of catching up in terms of their DVD titles. Once they expand the library, all signs point to it being the ultimate viewing experience.
In using a Blu-ray laser in favour of a red-ray laser, the technology is able to capture a crisper image. Pair this with the evolution of HD technology, LCD and Plasma TVs and you have the best possible image quality. While you might be enamoured by the crisp imaging, it does not stop there. Digging deeper, the sound quality on a blu-ray DVD is far superior to that of a traditional DVD.
The only aspect of Blu-ray technology that is even slightly misleading is the hefty price tag on most of the systems. However, similar to the way in which they will soon expand their collection, I am sure that the price tag will take a fall and it will become affordable for us all.
Did you know?
Did you know that a Blu-ray disk can hold up to 50GB of information. The traditional DVD can only hold up to 8GB of information.
