A smart looking watch is the cherry on top to any ensemble. Unfortunately a quality watch that looks good and lasts a lifetime will usually cost you an arm and a leg. Luckily, Citizen has developed the Citizen Eco-Drive watches in to a stylish, affordable, and technologically advanced timepiece.

Eco-Drive type wrist watches are powered by the sun, equipped with a special titanium lithium ion secondary battery that is charged by a solar cell located behind the dial. The titanium lithium-ion composition prevents it from being affected from the regular charge and discharge cycle of other types of rechargeable batteries. The combination of solar and lithium ion batteries allow a fully charged secondary power cell to run with no further charging anywhere from 30 days to 3,175 days (almost 9 years) depending on the electronic movement model.

The Eco-Drive line of watches offers a wide range of styles and functions. There are water resistant and diving watches, Hybrid Eco-Drive watches that incorporate a quartz crystal in their movement, as well as the Thermo model, which uses the temperature difference between the wearer’s arm and the surrounding environment as a power source.
