Baby escapes are at an all time high. Children are already the sneakiest creatures on earth, so it makes it even worse when they are trying to run away all the time. Keep your children locked down with baby safety gates. Not only does it keep a baby out of hazardous areas like the kitchen, industrial workspace, or home laboratory, but it also keeps children confined to any area of the home, leaving them no choice but to play with their baby toys and give you some peace. Baby gates are typically constructed of metal, plastic, or wood, and can be expanded to fit in any size doorway. They may be designed for indoor or outdoor use, and may be either permanently installed or removable.

Baby gates are especially necessary for people who live in multiple story homes. Keeping a gate at the top and bottom of the stairs prevents catastrophic tumbles and falls – and the mess that would make on the rug. Keep in mind not to use the removable type baby gates on the stairs, as a determined baby will just plow right through it.

Not only do these protective barriers keep our infants in check, but they also limit the range of our four-legged friends. Cats, dogs and small livestock all lack the dexterity and sense of mind to elude the confines of safety gates. And what better way to keep those animals that refuse to become house-broken out of your house? I suppose the same could be said for children.
