An instant pick-me-up for when you’re feeling tired, stressed, unattractive, sad or all of the above: new lingerie, preferably silk or satin lingerie (can’t go wrong with satin panties), but anything feminine and flirty makes a world of difference. It’s such a simple thing really, but it’s such a mood and confidence booster to know that underneath your clothes you have on pretty undergarments, even if you’re the only one who sees them!

I recommend Princesse Tam Tam lingerie. The French brand was founded by two Madagascan-born sisters in the 1980s and each piece is designed with superb attention to detail and just the right amount of cheekiness. Princesse Tam Tam also uses luxurious fabrics and offers bras and knickers, nightwear and sleep sets.

I really love the Pensive bra and knickers in Grey Velvet. They are made of stretch crepe, jacquard lace and a chiffon ruffle. The bra has adjustable criss-cross straps, which I really like; you won’t have any pesky bra straps slipping off your shoulder! The knickers are made in a hipster style and the back is made entirely of sexy, see-through lace. It’s really a lovely effect. And the knickers also have the feminine chiffon ruffles on each side in the front. You can also choose from the colours Orange Rainbow, Ivory and Black.

Also on my wish list: the Francesca Push-Up bra and tanga. They feature a fun graphic print made of jacquard lace. The neckline is seductive and the pads in the cups give an amazing lift, but they can also be removed. The tanga is also edged in a substantial amount of pretty lace that lays against the skin well, so that the tanga will be seamless underneath your clothes.
