I am always in a rush in the morning, so I often leave my dressing table in disarray.  There were many times when I have made myself late looking for a lost earring in a pile of products, cosmetics and jewellery.  When I finally decided to organise, I discovered that there were many items that would help me straighten up my dressing table and save a lot of space.

Jewellery

I was surprised how many differently shaped jewellery holders there were out there.  There’s your traditional jewellery box, but there are also bent wire holders that are designed to display jewellery for easy viewing and access.  There is a jewellery holder out there for every woman’s collection.  My jewellery is mainly made up of dangling earnings so I got a wire mesh holder that I can hang them off of, but there are holders for long necklaces and bracelets too.

Vanity mirror

I used to have a lamp on my dressing table because my bedroom lights weren’t bright enough for when I put on make-up.  It would always get in the way on the table’s surface so I considered installing vanity lights around the mirror.  Then I discovered a genius invention called an LED mirror.  LED mirrors have light built into the mirror itself so that they seem to shine out from the reflective glass.  And since they are LED lights they won’t heat up as much as regular light bulbs.

Make-up and products

I have compiled a great amount of cosmetic products over the years and though I try to consolidate I still use many of them at least occasionally.  The trouble is finding a place to put them all where I can still have access to them.  I found that boxes are the best solution because they keep everything tidy and not sprawled out across my table, but they are easy to move around and get to.  I purchased some inexpensive wooden storage boxes and just grouped products together by type.
