Winter is coming. And so are all the fun leisure activities that go with it. Here are our top four Winter activities, in no particular order.
Skiing
One of the most enjoyable snow activities, as well as one of the oldest, skiing is enjoyed around the world by people of all ages and skill levels. Whether you are cross-country, alpine, or slalom skiing, it can be an invigorating experience. There is also some risk with participating in such a fast-moving activity, which is why it is a good idea to wear a ski helmet.
Snowboarding
Snowboarding is skiing younger and alternative brother. All you need is a board, some snowboard boots, and a snowboard jacket if it gets cold enough. In addition to looking stylish and hip, snowboard jackets are extremely warm, repel water, and have tons of hidden compartments to store phones, mp3 players, and anything else you may need on the mountain.
Ice Skating
At first, when people start ice skating, they look like baby penguins- awkward balance and often susceptible to falling on their behinds. But once you get the hang of it, ice skating can be a real treat. It also makes a great place to have a date during the winter time.
Sledding
Sledding is one of those timeless winter activities that really put you in the mood for the season. Sledding down a hill is one of the most picturesque scenes during the holidays. Many people also use a saucer, and this is a great introduction to snow activities for young children. Don’t forget a baby snow suit for the little ones.
Did you know?
The earliest depictions of a skier are on cave drawings that date back to 5000 B.C.
